    Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
What is an ABC Cable (Aerial Bundled Cable)?
Aerial Bundled Cables (ABC) are overhead power lines that use several insulated phase conductors bundled tightly together, usually with a bare or insulated neutral conductor. They are widely used for overhead power distribution systems due to their safety and reliability.
What do specifications like "ABC 1X25" or "ABC 1X50" represent?
These numbers indicate the number of phase cores and their nominal cross-sectional area. For example, "1X25" means the cable has 1 phase core with a cross-sectional area of 25 mm², while "1X50" indicates 1 phase core with a 50 mm² cross-sectional area.
Why are the Neutral Core parameters empty in this specification table?
The specifications listed in this table represent single-core configurations (1x Phase Core). For single-core installations, the neutral or messenger wire is typically run separately, which is why the neutral core columns remain blank for these specific models.
What is the typical insulation material used for ABC Cables?
ABC cables are typically insulated with Cross-linked Polyethylene (XLPE) or High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE). These materials offer excellent resistance to UV radiation, weathering, and mechanical stress, ensuring a long service life outdoors.
How does overall diameter and weight affect the installation of ABC cables?
Overall diameter and weight are critical factors for calculating the physical load on poles, cross-arms, and hardware. They determine the tension and sag requirements during overhead installation to prevent sagging hazards and structural damage.
